I adopted Buck on December 28, 1995 from the Humane Society in Manhattan. Buck was in a cage that was marked "special adoption". He was born with a spinal deformity and neurological damage. Although he was handicapped, he was the most beautiful cat I ever saw. Beautiful shiny black coat and penetrating green eyes. I was told that he did not get along with other cats because they sensed he was handicapped and tormented him. Buck was very special. He never "knew" he was handicapped. He never gave up trying to jump and when he'd fall, he'd pick himself up and try again. Finally, I ordered a special ramp so Buck could walk up to the window sill or onto the bed. Because of his spinal deformity, Buck's internal organs were compromised. This, along with his neurological damage led him to the Bridge on December 26, 1996. Buck ... not very long with me but forever in my heart. You were my first kitty and I miss you terribly. Click on the NEXT button for Bridge Babies and the BACK button for Cream Puff.
