        Heart and Circulatory Disease

As your cat ages, the possibility of heart disease becomes more of a reality. Common symptoms of heart disease in cats are panting, appetite loss, slow down in usual everyday activity, breathing with mouth open, high blood pressure, bluish tinge to tongue, fatigue and possibly anemia. Needless to say, a trip to your veterinarian is an absolute must.

All of the above symptoms can be caused by other diseases or conditions but only your veterinarian can determine the cause. When heart disease is diagnosed, your cat will be put on a low sodium diet and medication to treat the exact cause of the disease.
